Chichester Harbour
Labelled as an area of outstanding beauty, Chichester Harbour sits at the edge of the Solent and offers visitors a variety of walks to explore. Whether it’s wandering around the harbour itself or wandering further afield in the direction of the popular West Witterings Beach, there is much to explore around Chichester Harbour.
With well-established walks and cycle ways that run through the harbour from the centre of Chichester town, it’s the perfect place to explore and experience the fresh country air. There’s also a number of pubs at which you can stop for lunch to make your day that bit more relaxing.
Littlehampton
Littlehampton is a popular seaside resort that has two sandy beaches. East Beach is located on the main side of the town and has a promenade that spans the length of the Littlehampton section of beach. Along with this, you have Harbour Park, an amusement park for all of the family, a variety of cosy cafes and a greensward.
The two beaches are split by the River Arun which also flows through Arundel. On the West side of this river, you have West Beach which is renowned for its sand dunes and a great expanse of sand when the tide is out. This is a perfect beach to walk along and gives a unique perspective of the Sussex coast. Nestled alongside this is a golf club and Littlehampton Marina.
Petworth Park
For those that are looking to explore a little further and have access to a car during your stay, we’d highly recommend a visit to Petworth Park and House. Around a half hours drive from our hotel, it’s a scenic drive to the Park and allows you ample time to take in the stunning landscape that is the South Downs National Park.
Petworth is home to its famous house and surrounding grounds which are open to the public. Looked after by the National Trust, the park offers a fantastic place to relax and unwind as you wander. The house can also be explored but this comes at an additional cost so do check for further information before travelling.
