At Comfort Inn Arundel we are perfectly placed to help you explore and enjoy these fantastic attractions thanks to our access to Arundel, a train station and the A27 trunk road which provides easy access around the area by car.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at what you should be doing this year.
1. Goodwood Events
Whether it’s cars or horses, Goodwood is now globally renowned for its events. Taking place each year, Goodwood holds the Festival of Speed, Members Meeting and Revival from a motorsport point of view and the highly popular Qatar Festival for horse racing. Furthermore, if music is more your thing Goodwood Racecourse also plays host to Three Friday Nights in the summer which sees major music acts take to the stage for a night of entertainment.
2. Arundel Festival
The headline event in this medieval town, the Arundel Festival is fun for all the family. The festival itself takes part in the heart of the town and is set against the backdrop of the medieval Arundel Castle and whether it is Music, Arts, Theatre, Food or Entertainment that you are interested in, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
3. Arundel Castle
Arundel is home to many buildings of historical importance and arguably the most popular is Arundel Castle. Boasting a history that stretches back nearly 1000 years, Arundel Castle has long been a valuable asset to the United Kingdom. During the English Civil War of 1642–1651 the castle was damaged and subsequently became the subject of restoration throughout the 18th and 19th centuries and slowly grew into the guise that you see today. It is a landmark not to be missed.
4. The South Downs National Park
This highly acclaimed part of England stretches for many miles just above the South Coast and sees the medieval town of Arundel as one of its many highlights. Completely unspoilt, the area is quintessentially English with quaint and picturesque villages nestled throughout. Whether you are a keen walker, cyclist or someone who just wants to soak up the fresh country air and get away from it all, this outstanding beauty spot has something for everyone.
